If I set up the supplied email client on the G1 phone for a POP3 or IMAP account, can I configure it to periodically check the mail server for new mail (in the background)? If so, will the system display some sort of notification message telling me that I have new mail?
I ask this because I don't have a G1 phone yet (I'm currently using the emulator for app development), and I'm checking to see if I can dump my Moto-Q phone (WM5 OS) and effectively use a G1 phone for my daily activities.
