If your layout XML is just the tabs, you might consider dumping it. In 
the code snippet I sent you, I never called setContentView(), because 
TabActivity provides a stock one by default -- just a full-screen set of 
tabs.

If you do need the layout XML, because you're doing things beyond the 
tabs, then you need to use the magic android:id for the tab host, which 
I think is "@android:id/tabhost".
