My GPS issue seems to have been a defective phone. I took it back to 
T-Mobile and exchanged it ( I was still within the 14 day "cool down" 
period available here in Michigan), and the replacement G1's GPS works 
quite well. It doesn't work in my home like my enV does, but I can live 
with that as long as it works outdoors.
