I bought a G1 from T-Mobile 2 weeks ago, and my GPS never worked. I suspected that the GPS feature was broken on that particular phone and it looks like I was right: I exchanged it on Friday, and the new phone's GPS works perfectly. Hopefully this isn't the case for you & Jesse, but I suspect defective hardware is the problem.
