Hi, I'm new to Android development, but have to "dive into the deep end of the pool" and rebuild the OS image on my dev phone.
I've already successfully downloaded the sources and built. I know that I have to install the three new .img files onto my phone and I know that I have to use the fastboot tool to install them. But, before I do so, I just want to sanity-check some questions, to minimize the risk of my bricking the phone: 1) Is there any doc detailing this process and the known gotchas? 2) Is it always safe to install a build based on the latest files checked into the main trunk? If not, what is the safest branch to tweak and install? 3) What branch takes me back to version originally installed on the dev phone? 4) Is there a way for me to backup the current images from the phone, so I can restore them afterwards? Thanks, David --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Beginners" group.
