Hey Xavier (I like the name),
The ADT plugin is referenced in two sections under
http://code.google.com/android/intro/installing.html. It is mentioned
under "Installing the Eclipse Plugin ADT". The reference in
"Installing the SDK" sub section is what threw me off:

"Make a note of the name and location of the unpacked SDK directory on
your system — you will need to refer to the SDK directory later, when
setting up the Android plugin or using SDK tools. Optionally, you can
add the path to the SDK tools directory to your path. As mentioned
above, the tools/ directory is located in the SDK directory."

This second sentence that starts with "optionally" is where the
confusion begins. It makes it sound like I could just add the path of
the SDK "tools" directory in my environment variables instead of
adding the pathname to the SDK after installing the plugin in Windows
> Preferences. This is what I did when I installed the plugin. I
added the PATH to "tools" in the environment settings, but it still
wanted me to point to the SDK directory. I kept trying to point to
tools (My fault). So, the documentation is correct, but what is
"optional" about setting the environment variable? Or why even mention
the plugin in the "Installing the SDK" sub section at all?

Hope that clarifies things.

Thanks
