I am a flash guy; but building mobile apps for the last 3 years. I
took java in college and needed a reminder.

Sun has all kinds of FREE info and tutorials on getting started. Start
with the link above and run with it. If you have even a little
programing experience you should do just fine. If you need more help
email me direct.

Also http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/develop.xml is a good start
and http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp#jre

You could also just google "learning Java" there are tons of free
resources. If you must buy a book there are two roads. The O'Reilly
version which works best for me more structured technical learning;
but i know lots who use the Java in 24hr type books.
