I like the way you put "we should" and "only you will [do actual work]
in the future". Why don't you at least take care of the first part and
submit a patch to the source code?

This is the wrong forum for this discussion anyway. This forum is for
people who are learning to use the SDK, not for people who are trying
to work around it. Why don't you go to android-discuss where just
about everything android-related is on-topic?
