Thanks for replying. I need to know if the phone is at "home screen"
or "idle screen" instead of in phonebook or other apps. I may choose
to do something in the background that will not interfere with the
apps running.

Is there a way I can obtain top Activity's name or id. I assume "home
screen" is a Home activity.

Thanks,

Sherry
