Actually, I was a latecomer to J2ME so all my J2ME work is
touchscreen.

In one of the introductory videos about Android the company people
say their intention is to put it in lots of devices.
I wonder how successful they will be given that it seems
Android has hefty processing requirements. Android would be
inappropriate for cheap consumer electronics. It might make it
into TVs and netbooks besides the phones but what else?
You need I'd guess at least a 300 MHz processor.

No, what I head was that people who try to use the G1
unlocked with other carriers were being prevented by Android
software to use it at all. This raised the specter of Google
acting just like Apple, preventing owners of the G1
from using their own property however they wish.

Both really. My present employer isn't at all interested
in the mobile market so I am doing this for myself.
If there's a chance of making significant money that would be great.
However if I want to treat this like a business then a $500 phone
is a big investment when I don't know if people are really
buying apps. I only see stats for all apps downloaded
with no differentiation between paid & free.
