There are some options which you might want to consider. 1. Placing a server in your home network. Disadvantage if you have only one public IP address because than you have to open up some ports on your router. 2. You can get service from a cloud server provider (gogrid, Rackspace 1.5 cents per hour, Amazon cloud, ...) 3. Colocation service provider (more expensive than cloud computing)
Of course you have to decide whether and how much money you want to spend on this.
