It doesn't exist. > It would come in handy if > such a printed reference were availabe in paperback. As the publisher of three books on Android development, I can tell you that it would be difficult for many publishers to justify the cost. Bear in mind that, right now, Android is being updated 3-4 times per year, meaning each edition of the book would have only a few months' shelf life before having to be replaced. For me, using print on demand, it would be conceivable. Getting the first one done would be a ton of work, but updates would not be too bad. And, since my books are only printed when purchased, I don't have to shred hundreds or thousands of unsold copies. For a traditional publisher (O'Reilly, Apress, Wrox, PragProg, etc.), it is very unlikely they could turn a profit. Now, if/when Android slows down, and the SDK is only updated once/year or so, then a reference guide like you seek becomes more practical for traditional publishers. > Having limited > internet access only slows development time. Bear in mind that the documentation ships with the SDK and is available on your hard drive. -- Mark Murphy (a Commons Guy) http://commonsware.com | http://twitter.com/commonsguy _Android Programming Tutorials_ Version 1.0 In Print! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Beginners" group.
