These apparently moved. The apress Pro Android book p31 says they are in a subfolder off the SDK root, but they are not. They are here: ..\android-sdk-windows-1.5_r1\platforms\android-1.5\samples and oddly there is an empty ..\android-sdk-windows-1.5_r1\docs\samples folder... Google's reference <sdk>/platforms/android-<version>/samples/ at http://developer.android.com/guide/samples/index.html is correct.
