Hi! I will receive my new Android phone in a few days. While testing it in the shop, I realised that it had one particular problem -- something every other soft-keyboard phone has: You can only choose German or French keyboard layout, but no Swiss version of them.
In Switzerland, we commonly use accent characters, so the default German layout does not fit for us. Neither does the french, as (a) it lacks the umlaut keys and (b) we do not use AZERTY in Switzerland. I have now (locally) added the necessary files in LatinIME, creating a values-de-CH folder. But, of course, now I would need to know where to dig in order for these new settings to become available to the user. Where is the list of available locales stored? At the same time, I also adapted some of the translations, substituting ß with ss, as we do not use ß in Switzerland either. Thanks for a hint. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Beginners" group.
