Hi furby, I have had this problem too. I found it happens when your AVD isn't selected when you click on Run As.. to run an application. Try this:
Right click on your project, select Run As... > Run Configurations... click on the "Target" tab and under "Select preferred Android Virtual Device for deployment" > "AVD Name" make sure that one of your emulators is selected.
