Generally, you need to adjust your udev rules:

http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/device.html#setting-up

Some people have to try different numbers than the 51-android.rules the
documentation suggests. Also, the instructions shown there are for HTC
devices; different manufacturers will have different rules.
