Tutorial code must have more inline comments and documentation blocks
than production code. Yet the tutorials at this site have less
comments than production code.

As as result, though they are older, I find the tutorials at
http://android.cyrilmottier.com/?p=79 far more helpful.

The explanations of the basic components/concepts of Android: View,
Intent, Activity, ContentProvider, Service and BroadcastReceiver is an
excellent supplement to the coverage of the same notions on the
Android Developer's Dev Guide (http://developer.android.com/guide/
topics/fundamentals.html). It is well worth the exta effort to run
Google Translate on them if you don't know French.
