Guys, did you find a solution already? I have the same kind of problem:
Running Ubuntu 9.04 + Eclipse 3.5 Galileo. I installed the Google App Engine Java SDK 1.2.6 plugin, the Google Plugin for Eclipse 3.5, and the Google Web Toolkit SDK 1.71 plugin. The installation went ok, and the plugins show up in the list of installed plugins, but the new project types do not show up in the File > New > Project list.
