I am experiencing the same issue. I am using the "Abridged Email" option, which says "No more than 1 email per day", but the actual behavior seems to be that it will go ahead and send us an e-mail if there have been 100 new messages on a given day. (So, for example, if there are 248 messages on a given day, it will send us an e-mail for the first 100 messages, then the next 100 messages, then the remainder at the end of the day.)
