The emulator is that, a full Arm processor emulator, so it's doing
instruction level translation.

It's about 1.5 minutes (just timed it) to boot the 1.5 profile on my
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU     T7700  @ 2.40GHz, to give some real
numbers to the question.

Once you've booted the emulator, you don't need to keep rebooting it
each time.  You can redeploy your application into a running emulator.
