I am a newcomer to Java and Android, and I don't want to be left out
when the android bandwagon finally gains some steam. To that end, I
have attempted to search for Java tutorials on the net, and there are
just too many. Java is IMMENSE. I have completed all the tutorials on
the Android dev website, but java is still a little unclear.

My question is this, what is a good book/tutorial for the Java
language itself, specifically, the Java language used in Android my
the Dalvik Virtual Machine? I have read it is based on J2ME, and I
have also read it is not. The Android Dev website only says that it
uses Java as a programming language, and nothing more.

Thank you for your time.
