Some Android phones will require a data plan briefly for activation, as you need to set up your Google account information before you can fully use the phone. For a GSM phone, if you can borrow somebody's SIM with a data plan, use that long enough to activate the phone, then you can switch to a prepaid SIM. -- Mark Murphy (a Commons Guy) http://commonsware.com | http://twitter.com/commonsguy Android Development Wiki: http://wiki.andmob.org -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Beginners" group.
