Hi,

I'm looking at writing my first simple Android App (a book reader sort
of application), and I was hoping to implement something similar to
Google's Gesture Search (http://gesturesearch.googlelabs.com/), where
you can draw letters on the screen, to jump to particular contacts.

I'd still like the normal up/down swype gesture to work for scrolling
as well, at the same time, as well as clicking (tapping) on certain
hotspot regions on the screen.

There was a question on StackOverflow about something similar, but
there doesn't to have been any answer.

I also posted on the Gesture Search Discussion Group (http://
groups.google.com/group/gesturesearch-discuss/browse_thread/thread/
1ef900cb21e6ca78/6a2b5b26095ba23c?
lnk=gst&q=victorhooi#6a2b5b26095ba23c), but didn't get any answer
there either, unfortunately.

Has anybody else implemented something similar in their program? Or
know any more details about the technical background to Gesture
Search?

Cheers,
Victor
