Hi, I'm looking at writing my first simple Android App (a book reader sort of application), and I was hoping to implement something similar to Google's Gesture Search (http://gesturesearch.googlelabs.com/), where you can draw letters on the screen, to jump to particular contacts.
I'd still like the normal up/down swype gesture to work for scrolling as well, at the same time, as well as clicking (tapping) on certain hotspot regions on the screen. There was a question on StackOverflow about something similar, but there doesn't to have been any answer. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2184927/using-android-gesture-on-top-of-menu-buttons I also posted on the Gesture Search Discussion Group (http:// groups.google.com/group/gesturesearch-discuss/browse_thread/thread/ 1ef900cb21e6ca78/6a2b5b26095ba23c? lnk=gst&q=victorhooi#6a2b5b26095ba23c), but didn't get any answer there either, unfortunately. Has anybody else implemented something similar in their program? Or know any more details about the technical background to Gesture Search?
