In general I agree that allowing re-submitting after the deadline would be inheirently unfair.
That said, I think it would be fair to allow the 50 finalists for the big awards to make one last submission reflecting the progress they have made while waiting for the finalists to be announced. At this point, based on discussions on this thread and others about how the judging process will work, especially for applications that require multiple emulators on multiple hosts, I don't expect to be among the finalists [ :-( ], although of course my applications are both the "next great thing" [ :-) ]. But if I were among the finalists, I would really like to be able to make one last submission.
