Scores are almost assuredly not distributed linearly. I expect the distribution will be more like a bimodal bell curve with a large peak in the low end and a small peak at the high end. This would reflect a normal distribution of average entries, and a smaller normal distribution of highly polished entries.
Hopefully Dan will post the mean as well as the standard deviation so we can really run some numbers. Or, maybe he can supply us with the complete dataset and just strip the names from the database?
