I got my "regret to inform you" email today as well. Congratulations to all the top 50 winners. I can only imagine how elated you must be feeling :) And I wish you good luck for the second phase of the challenge.
For all of us others, let's try and learn and pickup something from all the hard work we put in. I for one see the following silver lining: - In the process of working towards the challenge, I was able to refine my idea and was able to arrive at a state where (I feel) I have something with a good deal of potential. And I am refining/augmenting it further. - This challenge got me introduced to a bunch of areas where I had no experience - GUI frameworks, mobile development, Java (I come from a C/ C++/Linux kernel background). And I feel I did a good job with the submission making a slick UI ;) - It got me going, basically. Earlier I wanted to do something on my own, but I had not taken the initiative to do so. - This might be better for my project in a way because if getting it out to the users is the goal, I can channel the momentum now in a different mobile platform to reach that goal and revisit Android later when it becomes more mainstream So I am not going to stop at this juncture. I'll only go faster. What about you?
