I knew that I was not going to win. My application is sort of a "niche" thing.
But I hoped to get an access to an "Android marketplace" to have a chance to distribute my application. It looks like there will be no such thing as Android marketplace. I get this idea from the text in the looser email: "members of the Open Handset Alliance have showed interest in contacting some of the participants regarding..." So it looks like we cannot just offer our applications in an open marketplace like for iPhone (the iPhone marketplace will be opened soon). Instead, carriers will keep the doors closed for 3rd party applications.
