Google is certainly under no obligation to tell you how these were
judged. But, if that's how they did it, it really would have been
important for them to say so up front, so people could have put a lot
more effort into their documentation. But, I would place 10 to 1, no
100 to 1 odds that they just read you write-up. Think about the time
it would take to actually run 2000 apps before picking 100. Look at
the time line.
