That is a curious thought, because the laptops provided to judges,
should support the several SDKs (3 if I'm not mistaken, two M3
versions, plus one M5 version). Although only two choices were
available when submiting (M3 or M5) if I remember correctly.

I hope it actually did, at least I trust Android Team to correctly set
that up !

My submission was against the M3-rc37a. You can read the aftermath

And probably some more people also couldn't upgrade their apps due to
some of the bugs in existance in M5, without actually losing some
functionality.
