Actually, I have done application managers on multiple platforms (I don't know of any platform that doesn't have one) so no problem there. We also have a songbird extension coming out for PC. But I really came back into mobile to try to help out the Android developer community not get locked into these critical (yet stangly despensible) application management systems from the big players. A bunch of dunderhead judges that don't know that an application manager is a critical part of the device won't influence that committment. LiMo is the only other platform I would consider at the moment, but since Verizon joined LiMo, I'll take a wait and see approach for now.
