Heh - how about this... go develop your program for another platform... and in five years - see how far you get.
Android is quite obviously the future... and the whole idea behind this challenge is to find new and innovative uses for mobile devices. Cooking programs, closet organizers, etc are things people never dreamed of having on their mobile device - and they show exactly how innovative one can be with the Android platform. Think of the Nintendo Wii and "Wii Sports" which demonstrated the effective use of the Wii platform. With out Wii Sports, Nintendo Wii would have been a failure. Yet because of it, people understood what was possible for the future of the Nintendo Wii. Same difference - they didn't want to pick 50 GPS programs... or 50 eco-friendly programs - they had to diversify genres. Stop crying - please. If you really care that much, stop flaming Google and claiming that they cheated - just leave the forums and admit failure. Or... you can admit failure and turn in the right direction and build something stronger! Your right, I work for Google - but I am not employed by them. My company is built off new technologies and utilizing them effectively. Android is the most exciting product I have seen in ages - and I am here to work with developers to see a positive future in the development of Android. But no, I receive no money and google has no idea who I am (I assure you). I have emailed Google official solutions for you guys to be a little bit more happy to - I am not trying to work against you... but I want to clarify the business objectives of the contest. When looking at it in a logical way - their decisions make >COMPLETE< sense!
