Um, Android has never been released as anything but an "early look." You had to expect that by developing on it you'd be finding lots of bugs. If you reported on them, discussed them with other's, you will have helped google, the OHA, and ultimately the end user with bugs/ error removal.
What did you picture that did not happen? More people know how to program in symbian then most any mobile programmnig language except J2ME.
