Hi! Yeah, it helps, thanks. The Android docs contain a more detailed recipe for maintaining support for older Android versions too (http:// developer.android.com/resources/articles/contacts.html). What gets me is that on my stock 2.1-update1 (N1) everything works fine with the "deprecated" URI, but on my user's Hero (HTC's version of 2.1-update1) it doesn't. Seems that HTC misread "deprecated" as "unsupported". Ugh.
