There is an application called "Screen On" in the marketplace that allows users to browse all of their installed programs and place a checkmark beside each app that they want the backlight to remain on at all times.
It works well. How does this application control the settings of these other apps? Can you set a flag (like FLAG_KEEP_SCREEN_ON) for an app which you do not control?
