Hi Robert, I've updated
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=8407 with everything I know about the issue including test case and wpa_supplicant binary that resolved the issue for me, and I will make HTC aware of this. I think the more people that report this directly to HTC, the better the chance of them increasing the priority of performing their own evaluation of the problem and releasing a fix, so I would encourage everyone who wants to see this fixed to contact HTC directly too. - jc On Jul 27, 4:16 am, Robert Green <[email protected]> wrote: > Jimmy, > > Care to send them that info? > > So Hero is affected too then. great! :/ > > On Jul 23, 9:58 pm, JimmyC <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Had the same symptom on myHTCHero after upgrading to an Android 2.1 > > based ROM - phone could no longer seeUDPbroadcasttraffic on wifi > > (also affected ICMPbroadcast). > > > Only just tracked it down to the wifi WPA utility '/system/bin/ > > wpa_supplicant' <-- replaced it with a version from an Android 2.2 > > ROM, and now I can seebroadcasttraffic again (still trying to work > > out why). > > > -jc > > > On Jul 19, 4:45 pm, Robert Green <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > I'm pretty sure no one but me is usingUDPbroadcasts but in the rare > > > chance that someone is - has any experienced this?
