Maybe they are doing the Apple approach. Keep it all quite, then go out with a bang. If that is the case, I would expect the site to open around the 26th. That would give devs 5 days to submit, and the public would hear the buzz and they would be able to d/l the apps only 6 days later. ...but I'm no marketing expert ...and then again, maybe Google are just busy with other things.
