I think I got it figured. I just have to do it the way the dev guide says do it -- create a key in the keystore and apply that to the application. I'm new to the whole signing thing and using the "Export Signed Application Package" confused me because there is no keystore created (at least not one I can find...and I search the whole computer), so I was confused on how to re-deploy my app.
Unfortunately I think the users of my app will have to reinstall.
