Yes I know how to get the apikey. What is interesting is that the add-ons MapDemo application seems to work without a valid apikey. However I noticed (apparently) that if you reinstall Mapsdemo after your debug key has been registered then it no longer works unless you replace the dummy "apisamples" apikey with your registered apikey.
