Hi, I am posting this in order to get a verification on how the platform works, preferably from an engineer or architect working within android, but all answers are welcome.
In 1.5 the google search widget seen on the launcher is actually built in to the launcher and no App Widget at all. From what I have seen of the 1.6 code this remains the same in 1.6. I have however heard rumours about the Google Search Widget existing as a real App Widget. Is this true? >From what I know of the limitations in the App Widget Framework this doesnt seem likely however I'd like to verify that there isnt a real Search App Widget hidden somewhere :) If the google search widget doesnt exist as a separate App Widget - is there support for using the Google Search widget with my own Launcher or is this completely impossible?
