Are you using Linux, Mac or Windows ?

If you are using Windows, there is a USB driver.
If you are using a Mac, then it should just work.
If you are using Linux, then you have to add a to the udev
configuration. The docs have a good explaination of all of this here:

http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/device.html

I can confirm the instructions for linux work fine.
