no you're wrong. it works from inside eclipse. and that's the solution to the problem
so the program that comes up when just typing 'android' from command line is not good. the developer for that made a crap program. and truly the community has helped me so much in the past that i have the right to assume the problem solved after 56 discussions or so and my expectations are not at all unrealistic. thanks for taking your time and writing all this Bob. my apologies for 'bad behavior' and 'shame on' lines.
