Recently, we have had a lot of interest from Android developers asking about our geo-notifications platform and push notifications webservice so I wanted to share the basics with the development community here...
You can learn more at http://developer.xtify.com but, here is a quick summary... The Xtify Notifications Platform gives Android developers the ability to push geo-triggered notifications (or push directly via a webservice) to the mobile device. The Platform leverages many of the key capabilities of Android including customizable Action Intents. The Xtify notifications platform includes an SDK and server component. The SDK extracts location from the device and sends to the server. The SDK also opens a channel for delivery of notifications back to the device. The server component allows developers to configure user-specific messaging campaigns that are delivered based on time and/or location. The notification is displayed in the notifications bar as well as on a customizable notification screen when activated. Click here to see examples: http://www.xtify.com/xtify-sdk Thanks!
