Totally agree with Robert, Ivan.

When I was about your age, I was a pretty lazy kid too (my grades were
good, though... notch one up for my b/s ability :-) and when I told my
mum I wanted to do Engineering she was really worried I'd make a
complete hash of it.... found out I loved the stuff (from maths to
electronics to software) went on to graduate among the youngest at my
Uni, got a PhD too and now I'm happily working here at Google (and,
yes, it's as good as they say it is :-) but we do aggressively select
based on CS degrees, top colleges and high grades).

Bottom line is, don't believe what anyone would tell you about
intelligence and being "born with it": that's nonsense -- it's all
down to hard work, dedication and passion -- get on working on your
grades, pick a good College and put your head down to do the best as
you can.
And when you're done, send us your CV, we're always looking for smart
guys :-)

On a separate note: Josh, you're a star teacher, I really wish there
were more like you!
