However, the documentation for ContentResolver.query(Uri uri, String[] projection, String selection, String[] selectionArgs, String sortOrder) reads: "Passing null for [projection] will return all columns", [which is discouraged to prevent reading data from storage that isn't going to be used.]
In my simple test above, passing null returns null instead of a cursor.
