if you can wait for another week or so, i suggest using the openintents alert framework. :) (we'll have support for this pretty soon, but right now i'm' busy with polishing other things) but as this is propably not the case, i just point you here: http://code.google.com/android/reference/android/app/AlarmManager.html this does basically what you need.
