Activity is independent of an toast. Toasts are designed to be used for showing simple state messages to user, for example from background service. You also can't check state of toast, it was designed just to prevent usage like that what you want. But if you want "tie" toast with activity, then your UI design is simply bad. You need to rethink and redesign it.
