In that time frame, I would do a comparison of exsting apps and promising unknows for common user tasks. Not unlike the benchmarks people used to have for processor speeds, except focused on specific user tasks or life functions. Announce what you are going to do. Buy the software so incumbants can't duck the competition. Then test and publish.
