Google has said nothing about the forthcoming installer application, or given much detail on application lifecycle issues. I was wondering if anyone on the Android team could shed some light on whether it would have the ability to automatically install and update *required* components.
For example: A new app requires components A, B & C of version 5 or above. My phone already has component B v2.1 & C v5.0 installed. So the installer might choose to install component A, upgrade B and leave C alone.
