The sound volume worked fine for me set at 60% - so that kind of indicates that the problem is on the client side instead of the server side.

(btw. nice job Damien. My thumbs up. It'd probably also be useful to illustrate how variables in an activity can get "wiped out" if the programmer doesn't save state and is killed/restarted - been intending to program a simple example to demo this myself but ... still on the TODO stack :< ... )
