Where did you find the NumberFormatException message? I'm looking for a log of somewhere I could find an indication (error messages) of why the proxy is failing. I'm using Eclipse/GANYMEDE on Windows XP. I've tried every combination I can think of with and without http://, with and without userid:password, with IP versus domain name. I still can't get it to work. I even upgraded to 1.0 today, still no luck.
